Miss Khyatee Bashyav is a motivated and academically accomplished legal professional currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Criminal Law Department at SIPE Law College.
She completed her Bachelor of Law (Hons.) from Jorhat Law College, affiliated with Dibrugarh University, securing the 7th rank in the university in 2022. She pursued her Master of Law (LL.M.) in Criminal Law from Tezpur Law College, affiliated with Gauhati University, with an outstanding CGPA of 8.72. Her postgraduate dissertation focused on “Protection of Rights of Transgender Persons with Special Reference to Sonitpur District”, reflecting her strong interest in socio-legal research and gender justice.
In her professional journey, Miss Bashyav has completed a 3-month legal internship program under the Legal Internship Assessment Centre of Aquirus Victoria Foundation, gaining practical exposure to legal research and legal aid initiatives.
She has actively participated in national and international academic engagements. She presented a paper in the International Seminar on “Contemporary Legal Issues and Challenges”, for which she was awarded a Certificate of Honour under the collaboration of the International Court of Justice. She has also contributed to several national seminars, with a notable publication titled “Citizenship Issues Related with Transgender Persons”.
